Friends Used Book Sale
The Friends Used Book Sale is held the second Saturday of each month from 10am–1pm in the library basement. Bags of books cost only $6 and individual books can be purchased at by-the-inch or posted prices. The Friends book sale has books for all ages and from all genres, as well as music, movies, puzzles, games, and more. A small selection of prime condition books is available to purchase from the Friendly Book Store shelves in the library lobby during regular library hours. Prices as marked. Plus, you can now support your library by shopping a selection of Used books Online by visiting: Serendipity Book Shop (Chelsea) at serendipitybooks. Donations are accepted during library hours in bins beneath the staircase in the library lobby. Interested in volunteering? Donations Accepted:
The Friends of Chelsea District Library welcomes donations of books, DVDs, audiobooks on CD, music CDs, games, and puzzles for their used book sales. We DO NOT accept encyclopedias, cassette tapes, magazines, condensed books, textbooks more than 10 years old, vinyl records, VHS tapes, cassettes, or dirty, damaged or smelly items because our customers will not buy them. Please only donate items in good condition that you yourself would purchase.
If you have a large donation of more than 8-10 boxes of books, we ask that you contact the library so we can make arrangements to assist you with unloading your donation. Donations to the Friends are tax deductible; receipts are available when you bring your donations. You’ll also have the satisfaction of knowing that your donations will be put to good use in funding many library programs and events. Thank you in advance.
